i'm long overdue for a lenghty post. something DEEP AND INSIGHTFUL that will save my blog from being useless, dead and superficial. x)
it's been a long week. GRACES camp, and then straight into masonry. don't know what to say. i'm really lucky to be seeded 4th, thats for sure, and i really wanna make it to the semis. my journey so far has been pretty smooth. Played with Yiling first, had a crappy first few sets, couldn't concentrate in the first set, in the second set, after like 1 point, my strings broke, borrowed brenda's racket which i realise i dislike (its too bouncy) and my game just dropped after that, won- barely- third set, borrowed huiying's racket and FINALLY played properly. second game was with dawn chik. dawn's pretty decent considering she more or less stopped training seriously..? or so i heard. first two sets was fine, stoned in the last set, and only until 8-2 then i woke up and chased back 10-8. --> SEEMS TO BE A HABIT THESE DAYS.
playing zeslene tomorrow. i'm freaking scared.
i really wanna make the semis. be ON FORM tomorrow!
working during masonry, well, nothing much to say actually. it's been roughly the same, like it is this year, except andrew does the outside work now with sharanbir and not james. we basically laugh and joke around and slack like mad. pretty okay, once you know the ropes and sharanbir's weird idiosyncracies.
nationals next week. sort of bittersweet. i really cant wait for it to be over. somehow i always feel myself letting go of squash and slipping downhill before nationals, and after nationals that's when i find myself improving. isn't that a bit odd. really cant wait for it to be over i really need to compeletely revamp my strokes- only possiblewith some time. bitter because well, last nationals with brenda, chenxi, woonlue, with everyone still contemplating squash as a future CCA and no concrete decisions, the future is still uncertain and who knows maybe this year will be our last together and i really wanna make it good.
but step by step.TOMORROW FIRST.
the rest will come later.
go me.
